Getting started
- Install Framebird on your iPhone and on your Windows PC.
- Open Framebird on the iPhone and allow Camera and Local Network access.
- Open Framebird on the PC. It finds the iPhone on its own:
- USB (most stable): connect the cable, unlock the iPhone and tap Trust.
- Wi-Fi: keep both devices on the same network.
- When the status shows Ready, click Start camera.
Requirements
- iPhone with iOS 16 or later
- Windows 10 (version 2004) or Windows 11, 64-bit
- For USB: Apple’s Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store (or iTunes), which provides the USB connection to iPhones
Troubleshooting
The PC says “Looking for your iPhone”
- Make sure Framebird is open and in the foreground on the iPhone.
- On Wi-Fi: both devices must be on the same network. Guest networks and some office or school networks block devices from seeing each other; try USB, or a home network. A VPN on the PC can also hide the local network.
- On USB: install Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store, reconnect the cable and tap Trust on the iPhone.
- Check iPhone Settings → Framebird → Local Network is on.
The iPhone says it’s streaming to another computer
Framebird streams to one computer at a time. Close Framebird on the other computer, or click Stop camera there.
The picture stutters or stops
- Prefer USB for long sessions; it’s the most stable link.
- On Wi-Fi, choose a lower quality in the quality menu, or move closer to the router.
- If the iPhone gets warm, Framebird lowers the quality on its own and shows a notice. Removing a thick case or keeping the phone out of direct sun helps.
- If the connection drops, Framebird reconnects by itself and resumes the camera; no need to press Start again.
“Camera access is off” on the iPhone
Open iPhone Settings → Framebird and turn on Camera.
Can I select Framebird in Zoom, Teams or OBS?
Not yet. The Framebird Camera that other apps can select is in development and arrives in a later update. Today, Framebird shows the live preview on your computer.
